Bioteknik- och medicinteknikföretaget Vitrolifes årsrapport presenterades i dag, tisdag. Företagets omsättning under 2011 uppgick till 356 miljoner kronor, vilket är en ökning med 20 procent jämfört med 2010 då omsättningen var 298 miljoner kronor. Resultatet efter skatt ökade med sju procent, från 29 miljoner kronor 2010 till 31 miljoner kronor 2011. Också börsvärdet har ökat 18 procent, från 740 miljoner kronor till 876 miljoner kronor.
Under fjärde kvartalet ökade omsättningen, med 12 procent gentmot kvartal tre. Däremot minskade resultatet efter skatt, från 9,7 miljoner kronor i tredje kvartalet till 2,1 miljoner kronor i kvartal fyra.
Vitrolife tillsatte under året en tillförordnad vd, Thomas Axelsson. Förre vd:n och koncernchefen Magnus Nilsson gick till dotterbolaget Xvivo perfusion och fick 4 miljoner kronor i ersättning i samband med att hans nya avtal som vd för Xvivo förhandlades fram.
Under året har Vitrolife fått regulatoriskt godkännande av odlingsmedier för provrörsbefruktning i Kina. Företaget har också fått regulatoriskt godkännande av aspirationsnålar i Japan. En klinisk studie av STEEN solution-tekniken har gett goda resultat och publicerats i en vetenskaplig tidskrift. Företaget hoppas nu på att tekniken ska få ett försäljningsgodkännande i USA.
